In his early years, influenced by painting masters Hsu Shenzhou 許深川 and Wu Yiping 吳一平, he studied painting. During his time at the National Taiwan Academy of Arts, he studied the violin under professors Situ Xingcheng 司徒興城 and Wolfram König. He attended master classes with various violin Masters such as Denes Zsigmondy, Broadus Eule, Ruggiero Ricci, Franco Gulli, and Aaron Rosand. Besides music, he also has a passion for product design, holding patents for over 10 products.
Master Hsu Wen Hsiung徐文雄 has a strong passion for fencing and has won the Taiwanese national fencing championship twice. Since 1992 he has been coaching fencing at institutions such as the National Chung Hsing University, Taipei Medical University and St. John’s University. In 1993 he published a book “Foil Technique” (La Technique du Fleuret).

In 2024 Master Hsu Wen Hsiung徐文雄received the title of Honorary Master of the Barbasetti Military Sabre (since 1895) from Ars Dimicatoria, Prague, Czech Republic as a recognition of his lifelong achievement in sports fencing and his great efforts to promote classical fencing in Taiwan.
